Flagtown is an unincorporated community located in Hillsborough Township, Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. It is situated in the central part of the state, approximately 47 miles southwest of New York City and 49 miles northeast of Philadelphia. The area is mostly residential, with a mix of older homes and newer developments. The community is named after a flag that was raised at a nearby railroad station to signal the end of the line. The area is served by the Hillsborough Township Public Schools, which includes six elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. There are also several parks and recreational areas in the vicinity, including the Sourland Mountain Preserve and Duke Farms. The resident population of Flagtown is approximately 1,000 people.
